UPHOLSTERY WORKSHOP INFORMATION
The workshops run from 10.00am to 4.00pm or from 6.00pm to 8.30pm for the evening workshops.
I only have 4 people at the workshops at one time, to make sure you have all the attention you need. The workshops are suitable for complete beginners and the more experienced. I always aim for the classes to be relaxed and friendly and I ensure that everyone goes away with new skills and knowledge.
For upholstery, you should bring a small project with you, such as a footstool or a dining chair and a new top cover. Your project must have no loose joints and be sound. Each project is assessed, and we take it from there.
You will learn:
- How to safely strip off the old fabric and stuffing where necessary
- The correct use of the tools
- How to build the layers of upholstery back up
- Fabric placement, sewing cushions and piping when required
- The correct methods of attaching your new top cover.
Please note that advice on fabric can be given prior to attending.
You can book one or two days. The amount of time required depends on your project and I would like to see a picture of your project in advance to check suitability. I can also advise how long you will need to complete your project so you can book accordingly.
Please bring your own lunch, I will provide tea and coffee.
The cost of the workshops are from £80 per day and £35 per evening payable on booking.
To Book please go to the Booking Page and select your date
The dates for the soft furnishing workshops and paint technique workshops
will be issued as they are organised.
Cancellation Policy: My cancellation policy is fairly simple. As I only have 4 people per workshop, I must ensure each place is filled. If you have to cancel up to 2 weeks before the workshop I will re-advertise and if I find a replacement, I will refund your payment. If you cancel in the 2 weeks before the workshop no refund will be given. If I cancel, I will refund your payment or you can book in for another day. This policy is the same for anyone using a 3 R’s gift voucher.
